How does Stoqi help me reducing waste?
Stoqi sends notifications about nearly expired products so you can use them in time. This way, you consume food you might otherwise have had to throw away and buy again. This saves you money annually, which you can then spend on other goals.
Can I create a shopping list within this app?
Yes, you can easily create a shopping list to prevent unnecessary purchases. First, check how many of the product you have in My Inventory, and then simply add it. Loaded the product at the supermarket? Then you can cross it off and directly add it to your inventory. Optionally you can set multiple stores so 1 shopping list features products listed per store.
How much does it cost to use Stoqi?
The Android version of Stoqi is completely free, the IOS version asks for a really small purchase. No additional purchases, no registration, no ads, and no data sharing. That’s your first saving!
What permissions does the app ask for?
To use Stoqi optimally, you will be asked to allow use of the camera and notifications.
Is my data stored securely?
Absolutely, your data is only stored locally on your phone. You are in control of your data. Photos you take of products are only used in the app on your phone and are not shared.
Is Stoqi suitable for every household?
The app is designed for every type of household, large or small. So whether you have a lot or a few (edible) products in your home (fridge, freezer, pantry, drawers), Stoqi helps you keep track of your inventory.
Which devices support the Stoqi app?
The Stoqi app can be used on smartphones running the Android operating system from Android 7.0 onwards. The Apple iOS version runs on your iPhone from IOS 14 onwards.
Can I change when I receive notifications?
Yes, you can customize notifications to your preferences: how many days before the expiration date, and the notification time. You can do this in Settings.
Does Stoqi work without internet?
Yes. Stoqi stores your full inventory locally on your device. An internet connection is only needed when the barcode scanner looks up a product in the database, or when syncing with your household (if you’ve enabled that). Without sync, Stoqi works entirely offline.
How does Stoqi help reduce food waste?
Stoqi tracks the best-before and expiry dates of products in your pantry and sends you a notification before they expire. Combined with the shopping list feature — which shows what you already have — you buy less, waste less, and save money.
What are the costs and is my data safe?
Besides a small purchase for the iPhone app, Stoqi is completely free, ad-free, and requires no account or registration. Your data never leaves your phone. Most other pantry apps require a subscription, show ads, or sync to the cloud. Stoqi is built to be simple and private.
Is Stoqi available for iPhone (iOS)?
Yes. Stoqi is available for both Android (7.0 and higher) and iPhone (iOS 14 and higher). Download the app for free from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
Where can I change the language?
The first time you use the app, you’ll be asked to select a language. Want to change the language? Go to Settings -> Language.
How does the barcode scanner work?
The barcode scanner uses your phone’s camera to scan product barcodes (EAN-13, UPC-A). Stoqi looks up the product in the Open Food Facts database and automatically fills in the product name, brand, and photo — saving time when adding items to your pantry inventory.
Can I share my pantry with household members?
Yes. In Settings → Share, create a new household and share the 6-digit invite code with your family or roommates. Their device connects immediately. Sync is fully optional — if you prefer to use Stoqi locally only, nothing changes.
How does household sync work?
One device creates a household and shares a 6-digit invite code (valid for 24 hours). When another device enters the code, both are linked. From that point, changes to your pantry and shopping list sync automatically across all connected devices — even if one device was offline in the meantime. No account, no login, no email address required.
Does sync work when I’m offline?
Stoqi always works fully offline — your data is stored on your device. If you’ve enabled household sync, changes made while offline are queued and automatically applied as soon as your connection returns. No data is lost.
Is my synced data secure?
Yes. Cloud sync is entirely opt-in. When enabled, your data is stored encrypted. Only devices in your household can access it. You can request permanent deletion of your cloud data at any time. If you don’t use sync, nothing ever leaves your device.
Does ‘My Stock’ only track (perishable) products with a date?
No; you can also add products without a date, optionally via the barcode scanner. These products (e.g., hairspray, laundry detergent, garbage bags) are included in the stock and displayed separately. This way, you maintain an overview of all your products!
What can I share?
You can share your shopping list as plain text with friends or family. Additionally, with household sync enabled, your full pantry and shopping list are kept in sync automatically across all connected devices — changes on one phone appear instantly on the other. Household sync is set up once in Settings and requires no account.
